Wired Alarm System

Alarm system gives you the peace of mind even if you are in work place or some other place away from your home that your home is safe and secure.

Selecting a security system is good for the safety of you and your family. Alarm system has two different categories, wired and wireless alarm system.

Wired system as its name suggests consists of wires connected to the different devices connected to the alarm system. On the other hand wireless system is free of wires, the devices communicate with each other using radio frequency transmission.

Wired system is ideal for a home owner who is building his home from the start or if the house is under construction. Wired system requires drilling holes to walls for connecting different wires with the devices or zones. It can less expensive if you are building a home compared to wireless systems.

Wireless security systems are easy to setup, but it has some drawbacks like they might have issues with reception in some locations, which the wired systems will not have. In some of the cases wireless systems can be difficult to install than the wired systems.Wireless systems run on batteries, which need to be changed on a timely basis, otherwise the system would become useless.

Advantages of Wired Systems are:

  • Hardwired alarm panel are less costly than wireless panels.
  • Wired alarm systems are good in self-monitoring, which you won’t find in wireless alarm system.
  • Wired alarm systems run on main power supply, they do not require batteries as wireless systems.
  • They are easy to operate and understand - as it does not have complex electronic devices.
  • Wired systems does not use radio signals to operate. So criminals cannot steal the codes or clone the signals over the air which is found in wireless systems.

You can customize hard wired system as per your personal needs, while the construction of your home is in process. The number of outlets needed, how to conceal the wiring under walls, how to control communication line to the security provider can be planned with your builder during the construction process.

Hardwired systems give the comfort though in an old-fashioned way. Generally all the commercial alarms are hardwired. Even in wireless systems, some of the devices require some amount of hard wiring. This can include Power transformer, the electrical ground wire, telephone connections and keypads/arming stations.
